Miguel’s years of experience in the E&P business in Latin America will certainly be very helpful and important to Avanti in achieving its goal of making a material development acquisition in the region”.
Mr. Ramirez was with ExxonMobil for 35 years in numerous senior positions including: Vice President, Technical, Mexico; Exploration Manager, Peru; New Venture Manager, Mexico; International Liaison in Houston; Manager Central/South America, Exxon Exploration; Exploration Manager-Geologist-Corporate Planning, Colombia; and Exploration Manager, Brazil. Mr. Ramirez retired from ExxonMobil in 2008 and he served in an advisory capacity to the company until 2012.
Miguel is a past President of AAPG Latin America Region and was recently elected to serve on its Advisory Board. He has held the position of professor of geology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Universidad America in Bogota. He holds degrees from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Master of Geology from the Colorado School of Mines.
Management believes that Miguel’s many years of experience and excellent reputation in the oil industry make him particularly well equipped to assist Avanti in reaching its goals not only in Colombia but potentially in the entire region.
