HOUSTON, Sept. 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rosehill Resources Inc. (“Rosehill” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: ROSE, ROSEW, ROSEU) today announced that the Chairman of the Company’s board of directors, Gary C. Hanna, has been appointed to also serve as the interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and its sole subsidiary, Rosehill Operating Company, LLC, effective immediately and until the search for a new President and CEO is complete. Mr. Hanna succeeds J. A. (Alan) Townsend, the Company’s prior President and Chief Executive Officer. The Company previously announced Mr. Townsend’s retirement in April 2018.

With 30 years of experience in the energy industry, Mr. Hanna has a proven track record of successfully leading exploration and production companies. Mr. Hanna previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of KLR Energy, one of the predecessors of the Company, between September 2015 and April 2017. Mr. Hanna served as the Chief Executive Officer of EPL Oil & Gas, Inc., or EPL, a publicly-traded company that was acquired by Energy XXI in June 2014. Mr. Hanna is currently the chairman of the board of directors of Energy XXI Gulf Coast, Inc., a position he has held since April 2018.
