Most U.S. coal plants will delay retirement, US energy secretary says

The administration of President Donald Trump is in discussions with utilities across the country to keep their coal-fired power plants online longer, and expects that the majority of those plants that are scheduled for retirement will delay closure, Energy Secretary Chris Wright told Reuters.

“I would say the majority of that coal capacity will stay online,” he said in an interview.
