The Airdrie Oilmen’s Association are proud to present their upcoming fundraising event, White Collar Boxing III.
On Thursday, March 23rd, 2017, oil and gas corporate professionals and services employees will be facing off in the squared circle against local law enforcement and emergency services personnel in a fully sanctioned Alberta Amateur Boxing match – all in the name of charity.
The oil and gas contenders and law enforcement and emergency services contenders will be divided into two teams – red and blue – who will battle to go the distance in a show-card of twelve fights, including 3 women’s bouts.
But before even climbing in the ring for the major bout, the contenders have committed to a rigorous training regime of gym sessions, and physical and technical training commencing in January and continuing on twice weekly through to fight night under the tutelage of head trainer Cody Thompson of White Collar Boxing Co.
The event will be a kickoff to a series of events the Airdrie Oilmen hope to host for 2017, and will support local Airdrie charities including, Community Links, Airdrie Foodbank and Airdrie & District Victims Assistance, as well as KidSport, and the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society.
AOA President, Adrian Pruden, is excited for the event.
“The fighters begin their training in January and have put in long hard hours to ensure they put on a great show. We are very excited to hold the event again this year at the Palace Theater on March 23rd . Doors open at 5pm, with buffet style at 5:30, and Fights starting at 7PM sharp. We’ll also be doing a Pre-Fight Weigh-In scheduled at Local 522 at 5pm on March 22nd , that offers you the chance to meet and rub elbows with the fighters” says Pruden.
The Airdrie Oilmen’s Association are proud to welcome Wildrose leader and MLA for Fort McMurray-Conklin, Brian Jean, and Airdrie MLA Angela Pitt as our guests at White Collar Boxing III, March 23rd at the Palace Theatre. In the middle of a economic downturn, both Brian and Angela know Albertans are having a tough time paying multiple new taxes and work hard to represent their concerns in the Legislature.
They are both strong supporters of Alberta’s energy industry and will stand up to anyone who tries to put it down. We are happy to have them join us for this year’s event. The AOA are also happy to welcome Canadian Welterweight Champion, and North American Boxing Association Champion, Steve “The Dragon” Claggett, as a guest judge.
This event has quickly become the MUST SEE EVENT on the Corporate Social Calendar, and is a great way to obtain exposure for companies that are trying to establish their brand, gain market share, or maintain good community relations.
There are sponsorship opportunities still available, as well as a few table and private boxes. General admission tickets are available on the Airdrie Oilmen’s website atwww.aoaalberta.com
