CALGARY – Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU) said it has fully restored oilsands production, which was disrupted by a precautionary shutdown of an Enbridge regional pipeline system in northern Alberta last month.
Suncor said Tuesday it has been ramping up oilsands output since Enbridge (TSX:ENB) restarted the system earlier this month.
Enbridge shut down its Athabasca and Waupisoo pipelines — a major part of the network that serves Alberta’s oilsands — as a precaution after a June 22 spill from a smaller line about 70 kilometres southeast of Fort McMurray, Alta.
The pipeline company restored service to some of the regional pipeline system within a few days, but didn’t get the affected lines fully operational until July 2.
Suncor said it stored oil it produced to reduce the impact of the disruption and expects full-year production will be within its guidance range for the year.
