Connacher Announces New Board Members

CALGARY, Oct. 9, 2014 /CNW/ – Connacher Oil and Gas Limited (CLL – TSX; “Connacher” or the “Company”) announces that Daryl Gilbert and C.W. Leigh Cassidy have been appointed to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Gilbert is best known in the industry for his work as an independent consultant in reserves evaluation through his work with Gilbert Laustsen Jung Associates Ltd., now GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd. (“GLJ”). Mr. Gilbert was President and Chief Executive Officer of GLJ and retired in 2005. Since 2008, Mr. Gilbert has been a Managing Director of JOG Capital Inc., a private equity energy investment management firm. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Mr. Cassidy is an accomplished senior financial executive, bringing over 25 years of extensive capital and debt market experience with multi-national companies including Compton Petroleum Corporation, Bow Valley Energy, UTS Energy, Household International, Emtech Ltd. and Procter and Gamble.  Mr. Cassidy is a Certified Professional Accountant and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Connacher is a Calgary-based in-situ oil sands developer, producer and marketer of bitumen. The Company holds a 100 percent interest in approximately 450 million barrels of proved and probable bitumen reserves and operates two steam assisted gravity drainage (“SAGD”) facilities located on the Company’s Great Divide oil sands leases near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
