For the BOE Report:

The month of May proved exceptional for audience engagement and overall user growth. Since first launching only two and a half years  ago, the BOE Report proudly has grown its user base to over 100,000 users. For this past May, the site reached 100,474 users and 318,672 unique page views, 90% of which came from within Alberta.

BOE has experienced continued growth in the news service’s readership and user base. Since the news service’s inception, user numbers have grown at double digit rates. This despite the recent economic slowdown in Alberta’s energy industry, and the rest of Canada; proving that even in tough economic times, people still need and read relevant news.

Coverage of the Alberta provincial election helped propel the BOE Report to new heights. With such a dramatic lead up to Election Day and the subsequent result, BOE was perfectly poised to engage its audience on matters important to Western Canada’s energy sector. One article alone, discussing the implications of an NDP government with fraccing, managed to attract 50,000 unique views over the course of two days upon its release.

Going forward, BOE plans to continue publishing, for free, the most relevant information and content available to Western Canada’s energy sector, and is excited to continue its growth.
