SMRP Announces Winners of CMRP of the Year Awards

ATLANTA, Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) today announced the winners of its annual CMRP of the Year Awards. These awards recognize two CMRP-certified professionals who demonstrate leadership, commitment to continuing their education and a positive impact through their professional accomplishments.

SMRP recognizes the following winners:

  • Veteran Professional Award: Nezar Al-Shammasi, CMRP is the head of the Corporate Maintenance Services division at Saudi Aramco. With over 10 years of experience as a leader in the industry, Al-Shammasi has been instrumental in spreading the culture of learning and certification among professionals in the Arabian Gulf region. He serves as Chairman on the Gulf Society of Maintenance Professionals (GSMP) and is a member of the Global Forum on Maintenance & Asset Management (GFMAM).
  • Rising Leader Award: James Daniel Rader, CMRP. Having earned his CMRP certification last year, Rader uses his knowledge as a supervisor and engineer to improve oil analysis practices and expand the reliability capabilities from within his manufacturing and energy-focused positions. He uses the available resources from SMRP to build his reputation as a capable professional to other veteran employees in his industry.

The winners will be honored on October 14 during the closing reception at the SMRP 23rd Annual Conference in Cincinnati. The conference attracts over 1,000 maintenance, reliability and physical asset management professionals from all over the world for several days of networking, education workshops and facility tours.
