HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–NCS Multistage, LLC, placed 14.1 million lb (6,395 t) of proppant in a 52-stage completion in the Permian Basin, a world record for completions using coiled tubing and single-point frac injection. The completion took only five days and was accomplished in a single coiled-tubing trip using NCS’ Multistage Unlimited frac-isolation system.

The Multistage Unlimited system combines cemented casing sleeves, which are installed as part of the casing string, with a completion tool assembly that locates each sleeve, isolates it from the wellbore below, and shifts it open for fracturing. Proppant and frac fluid are pumped down the annulus between the coiled tubing and the casing.
