Alberta Earns $3.7 million in October 14th Land Sale

Yesterday’s sale results are in and the numbers must be disappointing for the Alberta government.  At $3.7 million, this is the lowest result of the year except for the May 13th sale that came immediately after this spring’s provincial election when we saw a new government elected.  The chart below shows the complete trend for 2015.

In total there were 90 parcels sold at an average price of $140.77 per hectare.  The largest bidder was Trilogy Resources who spent $1.1 million on 2 sections to expand their holdings in the Kaybob area. At the opposite end of the spectrum was 366337 Alberta Ltd. (a land agent) who picked up one section in the Latornell area of NW Alberta for only $325.12.  That’s just $1.27 per hectare.  You can see the complete list of companies that participated in the table below.
