Annual KidSport Day fundraiser has generated $191,650 since 2009 to help kids participate in team sports

VANCOUVER, Oct. 27, 2015 /CNW/ – Chalk up another win! Triple O's KidSport Day scored a homerun for charity by raising a record-breaking $52,650. The sixth annual fundraiser drew thousands of guests to 34 participating Triple O's locations throughout British Columbia on October 23 to give financially underprivileged children the opportunity to play team sports.

On KidSport Day, Triple O's donated a loonie from the sale of every combo to a local KidSport BC chapter. For every $400 raised, one child in need can play their sport of choice, including sports like hockey, baseball, gymnastics or lacrosse for a full year. Cash donations were also received by supportive guests throughout the month. Since the fundraiser's inception, the initiative has raised $191,650 and helped nearly 500 kids grow their confidence through sport.

“Our guests hit it out of the park this year to support local kids,” says White Spot and Triple O's president Warren Erhart. “KidSport Day is Triple O's way of going to bat for kids who need it most. We are proud to help youth throughout the province get involved in sports, and we couldn't have done it without the generosity of our guests.”

Triple O's guests tweeted their enthusiasm for KidSport Day:

  • Pretty “delicious” way to help get more kids in the game! @TripleOs #cowichancommons #SoAllKidsCanPlay
  • Love @TripleOs community for raising awareness/money for @KidSportBC who'll donate $1 today/Friday #SoAllKidsCanPlay #WhiteSpot

“Triple O's goes the distance to help kids in so many local communities,” said Pete Quevillon, Director of KidSport BC. “On behalf KidSport chapters across the province, I want to extend a huge thank-you for your continued support.”
