OTTAWA, Nov. 6, 2015 /CNW/ – The Canadian Steel Producers Association (CSPA) and its member companies are disappointed by news of the Obama administration's decision to deny a Presidential Permit for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
The CSPA has a long history of supporting investment in pipeline infrastructure and know first-hand of the substantial economic benefits associated with these projects. Modern and efficient pipeline networks are crucial to ensuring the responsible development and transportation of Canada's energy resources.
Canada's steel producers are a vital component of the natural resource and energy supply chain. Our member companies are valued partners in the sustainable development of Canada's natural resources and we will continue to support pipeline projects in the future as critical to our national economic growth. We hope going forward that policymakers at all levels of government will remain committed to the expansion and renewal of Canada's energy infrastructure.
