This week’s Alberta oil and gas mineral rights land sale earned the province a total of $4.38 million for 82 leases consisting of 37.6 thousand hectares of land. The average price paid per hectare was $116.57 and that brings the total for the first two sales of 2016 to $6.8 million. That compares to $32 million this time last year, which represents a drop of 78.8%.
The largest single non-anonymous bidder was Nine Ring Energy Development Inc. Nine Ring paid $309.2 thousand for 6 sections in the Fairview/Gage area of North West Alberta.
