Alberta Earns $5.74 Million in July 20 Landsale

The 13th Alberta land sale of the year, held yesterday on July 20, has earned Alberta a total of  $5.736 million, down slightly from the $6.282 million result of the July 6 land sale.

There were a total of 76 parcels with acceptable lease bids and no Oil Sands Leases for this sale. The total for all 13 sales so far for 2016 is $75.8 million.

The chart below illustrates the trend of the sale results for all of 2016 so far.

 

The total area of the 76 parcels in this week’s sale was 27.7 thousand hectares with an average sale price of $207.13 per hectare which is 84% higher than the $112.44 per hectare for the previous sale on July 6.

Thirty companies participated and the largest bid for a single parcel was $516.1 thousand paid by a land agent for petroleum and natural gas rights for a one section parcel in the Wapiti area of North Western Alberta.

The largest  non-land agent bidder was Bounty Developments Ltd. who paid $75 thousand for one section in the Bessie region just north-west of Whitecourt.
