The November 9th Alberta land sale has earned the province $3.26 million.  That’s a significant drop from the $9.145 million dollars from the previous sale on October 26 and is the lowest amount since May of this year.

There were a total of 112 parcels with successful bids for this sale and the cumulative total for all 2016 Alberta land sales now stands at $141.35 million.

The chart below illustrates the trend of the Alberta land sale results for all of 2016 and also shows the running total for the year.

The total area of the 112 parcels in this week’s sale was 46.3 thousand hectares with an average sale price of $70.43 per hectare compared to $151.48 per hectare for the October 26 sale. That’s less than half of the average for all of 2016 so far of $155.67 per hectare

Forty-six companies participated, and the largest bid accepted for a single parcel was $281.8 thousand paid by a land agent.  That was for a one section parcel in the Carrot Creek area of West Central Alberta and works out to $1,100.85/ha. The area is primarily known for Cardium oil and gas production.

The complete list of successful bidders is in the chart below.
