First Alberta Land Sale of 2017 Earns $12.73 Million

The January 11th  Alberta land sale has earned $12.73 million including $326.5 thousand for oilsands leases.  That would make this the best result since the August 31 land sale which brought in $16.6 million.

There were a total of 120 parcels with successful bids for this sale.  The chart below illustrates the trend of the Alberta land sales since the beginning of 2016 and also shows the running total for that period.

The total area of the 120 parcels in this week’s sale was 66.1 thousand hectares with an average sale price of $192.55 per hectare compared to $107.62 per hectare for the last sale on December 7.

Sixty companies participated, compared to thirty-seven in the last sale and the largest bid accepted for a single parcel was $1.4 million paid by a land agent for one section in the Provost area of South Eastern Alberta.
