Swift Energy Announces the Appointment of Chris Abundis as Senior Vice President and General Counsel

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Swift Energy Company (OTCQX: SWTF) (the “Company”) announced today the Board of Directors has appointed Christopher M. Abundis as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Abundis will lead the Company’s legal and administration efforts and serve as counsel to the Board of Directors, advising the Board on legal and governance matters. He will report to Sean Woolverton, Swift’s Chief Executive Officer.

Chief Executive Officer Sean Woolverton commented, “Chris has distinguished himself for his legal acumen and thorough understanding of our business and the energy industry. He brings to the table a breadth of legal expertise, a strong supporting team and a collaborative approach to managing complex legal matters. Chris is also tasked with managing Human Resources and Corporate Services for the Company, where he will strive towards establishing Swift as the employer of choice. In his new position as Senior Vice President, he will play a critical role in driving the Company’s strategic objectives.”

Christopher M. Abundis, 39, was appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in March 2017, and leads the Company’s legal and administration efforts including Legal, Human Resources, Corporate Services and Records. From April 2016 to March 2017, Mr. Abundis was Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for the Company. He has also served the Board of Directors as Secretary of the Company, a position that he has held since August 2012. From February 2007 to August 2012, Mr. Abundis served as Assistant Secretary of the Company and has provided legal consultation in corporate governance, securities law and other corporate related matters in progressive positions of responsibility including Senior Counsel, Counsel and Associate Corporate Counsel. Mr. Abundis received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law.
