CALGARY, Aug. 15, 2018 /BOE/ – Rundle Eco Services Ltd (“Rundle”) is pleased to announce their 2017 stock has sold out and a forward order position for their 2018 inventory has been established. “Our recycling model has proven a success,” announced Mike Rutherford, President of Rundle Eco Services Ltd.”One C-Ring at a time,” chuckled Mr. Rutherford, “that’s another 20,000 lbs of plastic we’re keeping out of Albertan landfills and seeing recycled into lawn chairs and flower pots.”
Rundle just celebrated it’s first year of business and with the markets the team has established around the world, “we can say with confidence we recycle 100% of the waste plastic we collect, ” said Mr. Rutherford. “We offer a cost effective green solution verses disposal.” This includes clean formatted Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), and High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS). “Nothing goes into a landfill,” added Mr. Rutherford.
Worldwide, it is estimated that 20 million pounds of LLDPE and High Density Polyethylene HDPE used in the process of storing water for the oil industry ends up in landfill.
That’s more than 50,000 cubic meters! Additionally, it takes more than 1,000 years to decompose and will cause environmental issues for future generations.
Rundle Eco Services Ltd. offers end users an alternative to landfills. Our service is more economical and we substantially reduce the impact on the environment. China’s recent abrupt policy change of not importing 50-80% of the world’s recycled plastic caused significant turmoil in the world recycling market. Landfill owners/operators recognize this issue and are becoming more hesitant to accept these type of plastics. Despite this, Rundle displayed an amazing ability to find a market for its recycled plastic. Rundle Eco Services Ltd. was formed in August 2017 with the focus to recycle frac pond and pit liners used in the oil and gas industry. Annually, over 5,000,000 lbs of Frac Pond and Pit Liner used during the drilling season must be disposed of, either to pollute a Land Fill for a few centuries or to be Recycled for future use.
