Week-long showcase of Alberta’s emerging blockchain ecosystem kicks off with an afternoon of events devoted to exploring the transformative potential of blockchain for Alberta’s energy industry.
CALGARY, Alberta
On September 9th, Calgary blockchain and energy company GuildOne is proud to be hosting Blockchain in Energy to kick off Alberta Blockchain Week. An afternoon of events intended to explore the vast potential of blockchain technologies to transform the energy industry, Blockchain in Energy will feature presentations by industry, technology and business leaders. It will also include a panel exploring how blockchain can support economic development for Indigenous communities.
Alberta Blockchain Week runs from September 9 through 13. It features a number of events providing an in-depth look at the latest developments in blockchain applications. Alberta Blockchain Week is an initiative of the Alberta Blockchain Consortium (ABC), a blockchain ecosystem initiative that was founded to unite Alberta’s community of blockchain business owners, developers and adopters. ABC seeks to educate and raise awareness of blockchain’s economic and social value through ecosystem development, monthly gatherings and other events.
Blockchain in Energy will consist of four events, running from 12 pm (noon) through 6 pm at the Petroleum Club in Calgary and will conclude with a mix and mingle networking event. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to support two local blockchain not-for-profits, Blockchain for Indigenous Rights International (BIRI) and Canadian Blockchain Association for Women (CBAW).
Throughout the event, GuildOne will also be providing demonstrations of their world-leading blockchain energy business network, EBX including use cases such as royalties, joint venture interests and road use allowances. In 2018, the company conducted the world’s first blockchain oil and gas royalty transaction on blockchain using EBX.
