The newest tool from StackDX Intel (formerly BOE Intel) allows users to quickly and easily spot wells that have been recompleted, and their resulting production changes. As the examples below show, some operators are having lots of success reviving old wells with new completion techniques.
What exactly is StackDX Intel? See for yourself here with our new website.
A couple of interesting examples are shown below, using the new recompletion tool from StackDX Intel, and the production plots from StackDX Maps (formerly Petro Ninja).
This Longshore Resources well (Figure 1) in the Dina formation was recompleted in November 2024. Production in the month before the recomplete was 11 boe/d (including 10 bbl/d of oil). Production in the month after the recomplete surged to 139 boe/d (including 131 bbl/d of oil).

Another example of recomplete success is this Torxen Energy well in the Basal Quartz formation (Figure 2), which was recompleted in March 2025. Production in the month before the recomplete was down to 24 boe/d (including 12 bbl/d of oil). In the month after the recomplete, production surged to 119 boe/d (including 84 bbl/d of oil).
