ROKY OSI Releases New Video Detailing How Eagle Ford Shale Investments Are Shifting From Oil & Gas Exploration to Wastewater Management and Drilling Mud Remediation

February 8, 20164:30 AM Marketwired

AUSTIN, TX–(Marketwired – Feb 8, 2016) – ROKY Oilfield Service Investments (http://rokyosi.com) released a 4-minute video detailing the need for more environmentally friendly oilfield disposal supercenters throughout the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas. These supercenters (designed exclusively by Fortress Environmental Services) are tasked with cleaning and disposing of more than 270 million barrels per month of produced saltwater; a wastewater volume that will continue to increase as oil wells age. In addition, Texas has a large number of mud farms also known as land treatment farms where drilling fluids and refinery waste have been dumped in waste disposal pits in such large quantities that many of these sites are now considered superfund sites.

Please watch this video for more information: http://rokyosi.com/

Some of the largest drilling fluid and refinery waste disposal pits include:

  • Baldwin Waste Oil Company
  • Ballard Pits
  • Brine Service Company
  • Brio Refining, Inc.
  • Col-Tex Refinery
  • Cox Road Dump Site
  • Force Road Oil and Vacuum Truck
  • Geneva Industries/Fuhrmann Energy
  • Gulfco Marine Maintenance
  • Hall Street
  • Harris Sand Pits
  • J.C. Pennco Waste Oil Service
  • James Barr Facility
  • La Pata Oil Company
  • Midland Groundwater Plume
  • Click here to see the rest of the list of Texas Superfund Sites

Many of these superfund sites could have been prevented from ever happening and the cost for the clean up could have been completely avoided if more sites like Fortress’ Environmental Oilfield Disposal Supercenters had been built throughout the Eagle Ford Shale.

Recognizing the opportunity to clean and remediate oilfield waste instead of dumping it on open land, the Texas Railroad Commission granted Fortress Environmental Services one of the very first Stationary Treatment Facility (STF) Permits in November 2015. Fortress’ Drilling Mud Remediation Site is now open for business and are accepting all drilling fluids, cuttings and solids and non-hazardous oilfield waste from anywhere in Texas.

While oil prices are currently in a bust, many oil & gas investors are now investing in the wastewater and drilling mud remediation business until the oil industry returns back to a boom economy like it always does.
