Most production data is out for June. BC data has been reported in full, while Alberta has reported oil, condensate, and gas; full Alberta NGL data including pentane and marketable gas is due out in a week or so, while Saskatchewan data should be in imminently. While the June data won’t be considered complete quite yet, it is nonetheless worthwhile to show the data as it stands today. Pentane volumes in Alberta will not be represented yet for June which may affect liquids results, and “gas equivalent” volumes will be used instead of “marketable gas” in cases where marketable gas is not yet available. As always, we use calendar day production metrics so these are real volumes produced in the month. Despite the incomplete version of this data, it is still interesting to present it as this data is fresh.

TOP 15 OIL/CONDENSATE WELLS (see on StackDX Maps)
TOP 15 NATURAL GAS WELLS (see on StackDX Maps)
Notable oil/condensate wells:
- Baytex Energy had 3 of the top 15 wells, including the top 2. While Baytex has frequented our top well reports over the last couple of years, it has usually been the company’s Peavine Clearwater development where these wells have come from. Not so this month, with all 3 wells from the Pembina Duvernay play. The company’s top Duvernay well produced 1,278 bbl/d of oil in June.
- Keeping with the Duvernay theme, Spartan Delta had 3 of the top 15 wells in June, also all from the Pembina Duvernay. The company’s top well produced 972 bbl/d in June.
- ARC Resources had 2 Montney wells from the Karr field that made the list. Its top well produced 956 bbl/d of condensate in the month.
- Whitecap had 3 wells in the top 15 in June. 2 of them came from the Montney at Kakwa, while the third is a big surprise coming from the Cardium at Wapiti. That Cardium well produced 866 bbl/d in June.
- Archer Exploration had 2 Charlie Lake wells make the top well report this month. The average of those 2 wells was 910 bbl/d.
- Aspenleaf had a Nisku well at Leduc-Woodbend that produced 867 bbl/d of oil in June.
- Canadian Natural Resources – CNRL had a Montney well at Wembley that produced 801 bbl/d of oil in June.
- Honourable mention to the 2 big Tamarack Clearwater wells with their best months since being placed on production more than 6 years ago as a result of waterflood impact. Read more about those 2 wells here.
