Connacher Announces Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

CALGARY , March 11, 2013 /CNW/ – Connacher Oil and Gas Limited (CLL – TSX; “Connacher” or the “Company”) announced today that Mr. Christopher Bloomer will become Connacher’s Chief Executive Officer, effective April 11, 2013 . In conjunction with this role, Mr. Bloomer will also be appointed a director of Connacher.

Mr. Bloomer has over 30 years of experience in the domestic and international energy business. For the past 10 years he has been an executive with Petrobank Energy and Resources providing leadership throughout Petrobank’s corporate evolution. He has held the roles of Vice President Heavy Oil , Chief Financial Officer, and most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Director. Mr. Bloomer began his career at Shell Canada and moved with increasing responsibility through exploration, production, finance, oil sands development and ultimately was Director- Liquids Business, responsible for the crude oil and NGL marketing business and its facilities. Subsequently he was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Castle Energy, a NASDAQ listed company, responsible for its Canadian crude oil marketing business and its US exploration and production operations, as well as its Texas pipeline operations. Following his role at Castle, Mr. Bloomer was President and Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Talon International, a TSX-V listed company, operating primarily in Latin America. Mr. Bloomer has served on the boards of several Canadian public energy companies and is a member of the Alberta Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (APEGA).

In connection with the appointment of Mr. Bloomer , Colin Evans , Chairman and Co-Managing Director, and Kelly Ogle , Co-Managing Director, will transition back to their roles as directors of the Company.  Mr. Evans will continue as Chairman of the Board.
