Largest ever Gas & Oil Expo kicks off today

Leading industry exhibition to showcase emerging technologies, live demonstrations and international networking opportunities

CALGARY, June 11, 2013 /CNW/ – Gas & Oil Expo, the largest Canadian gas and oil event of 2013, kicks off today at Calgary’s Stampede Park at 10:00 a.m. The biennial event, which runs until June 13, 2013, is the largest Gas & Oil Expo to date, welcoming more than 24,000 national and international registrants and more than 680 exhibiting companies.

Gas & Oil Expo gathers oil and gas professionals from more than 60 countries from around the globe to view new technologies and products and to formulate solutions to challenges affecting the sector. Countries represented includeCanada, China, India, South Korea, Russia, United Kingdom and USA.

“As one of the largest energy exhibitions in Canada, Gas & Oil Expo has become hallmark event for both the city of Calgaryand the oil and gas industry,” said Wes Scott, Executive Vice President of dmg :: events, organizers of Gas & Oil Expo. “The event has expanded exponentially since last held. This year’s Gas & Oil Expo is poised to be the largest yet, and we are currently witnessing a 30% increase in registration of attendees compared to 2011.”

Attendees of Gas & Oil Expo will have the opportunity to explore the latest technologies, products and services through free exhibitor presentations and live demonstrations, including Live Welding Demos. New for 2013, these demonstrations will take place in the expanded outdoor exhibition area and highlight the latest innovations and productivity advancements in the welding, joining and fabrication fields. The event also features three Exhibitor Showcase Presentation Theatres, where attendees can gain insights through free talks on Business Development, Heavy Oil & Oil Sands, and Health, Safety & Environment topics.

Immediately following there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony inaugurating the New Jersey delegation’s area.

Gas & Oil Expo 2013 hours of operation are Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., andThursday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
