INNERKIP, Ont. – Enbridge says it has served an injunction to protesters demanding they stop blockading construction on the Line 9 pipeline in the community of Innerkip, near Woodstock.

A spokesman for a protest group that calls itself Dam Line 9 Blockade said that most of the protesters have begun cleaning up the site, but a one or two have locked themselves to structures in the area and do not plan to move.

Dan Kellar said the protesters have come from all over southern Ontario, and have been blockading the pipeline for six days.

Ontario Provincial Police would not comment on the injunction, only saying that they remain on site to maintain peace.

Enbridge plans to reverse the flow of oil and increase the pipe’s capacity, but opponents argue the pipeline puts the environment at risk and that there has been little consultation with aboriginal communities.
