Linde to discuss wealth of technologies and services for oil exploration and production at URTeC meeting in Texas

July 14, 20157:23 AM PR Newswire

MURRAY HILL, N.J. and NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., July 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Petroleum engineers and geologists attending this year’s Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) conference are invited to visit with Linde experts at their booth to discuss Linde’s range of services for oil and gas exploration and production and distribution. The meeting will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. July 20-22.

A world leader in industrial gases and engineering, Linde’s Oil & Gas Services business unit supports oil and gas exploration and production throughout North America with CO2 and N2, equipment, personnel, and services for well completion and stimulation. Among the technologies and services Linde engineers will be highlighting at its booth (#467) are:

  • Energized solutions used in fracturing to extract hydrocarbons from unconventional reservoirs
  • Linde’s CO2 Huff `n Puff oil well stimulation unit for improved recovery
  • The Linde Mobile Gas Clean-up Unit (MGCU) to remove CO2 from early flowback natural gas

“We’ll be discussing the value of using energized solutions incorporating carbon dioxide and nitrogen for hydraulic fracturing and cost-effective well stimulation of hydrocarbons from unconventional reservoirs,” said Robin Watts, Oil and Gas Technology manager for Linde LLC. Energized solutions can add value at every stage of a well’s lifetime, and can improve production in unconventional reservoirs beginning with the first fracturing operation. Energized solutions for completions and stimulation have been successful in a wide variety of fields and basins. “We believe that the data clearly demonstrate the benefits of using energized fracturing in a variety of situations,” Watts said.

Huff ‘n Puff

Linde engineers will also demonstrate how the Linde CO2 Huff ‘n Puff trailer-mounted pumping package is a proven single-well stimulation method that can dramatically increase production from depleted or low-pressure oil wells. Watts says, “Huff ‘n Puff is extremely cost effective, even at today’s oil prices. Studies have shown CO2 Huff ‘n Puff can increase oil recovery, boosting short-term production, and provide important information on injectivity and pressure communication with adjacent wells.”

Mobile Gas Clean-up Unit (MGCU)

Linde’s Mobile Gas Clean-up Unit is a field-deployable CO2 separation skid designed to be operated profitably during early flowback. It removes CO2 from natural gas during flowback to meet pipeline specifications and improves operator economics while meeting stringent emission standards.

Linde engineers will also be discussing Linde’s turnkey industrial nitrogen services that offer a quick, cost-effective way to safely and accurately test, pig and dry existing and new pipelines — especially those in challenging, off-road locations.

URTeC 2015 is the industry’s only integrated event for unconventional resource teams. It is a collaborative effort of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
