NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR) today announced the election of Philip L. Frederickson to its board of directors.

Mr. Frederickson retired from ConocoPhillips as Executive Vice President, Planning, Strategy and Corporate Affairs in 2008 after a 30 year career in leadership roles with the company spanning corporate strategy, business development, operations and marketing. Currently, he serves as a board member for Williams Partners L.P., formerly Access Midstream Partners L.P., a natural gas pipeline company.

“Philip brings incredible experience as an executive in a large organization, significant knowledge of the commodities markets, and a track record of successful board experience, all of which are valuable assets that will complement the current Entergy board,” said Leo Denault, Entergy’s chairman and chief executive officer. “In addition to the diversity of Philip’s senior-level leadership experience, he brings experience leading strategic change both at ConocoPhillips and on the boards on which he has served. These qualities make Philip an ideal addition to our board and we look forward to working with him.”

With his election to the board, Frederickson becomes the third new board member added this year in an effort to enhance the board’s expertise and prepare for the future.

During his career at ConocoPhillips, Frederickson, 59, held several senior positions in the United States and Europe, including General Manager, Strategy and Business Development; General Manager, Refining and Marketing Europe; Managing Director, Conoco Ireland; General Manager, Refining and Marketing; General Manager, Strategy and Portfolio Management, Upstream; and Vice President, Business Development. He was Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development for Conoco Inc. from 2001-2002.

After the Conoco and Phillips merger announcement in 2001, Frederickson was named Integration Lead to coordinate the merger transition. In 2002 he was named Executive Vice President, Commercial, at ConocoPhillips.

Frederickson sits on the audit and conflicts committees of Williams Partners L.P. Mr. Frederickson previously served as a director of Rosetta Resources Inc., where he was lead independent director when it was acquired by Noble Energy, Inc. earlier this year, and Sunoco Logistics Partners, L.P. He also serves on the boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations.

Philip Frederickson holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Texas Tech University, and was named Distinguished Engineer by the school in 2004. He is a native of Borger, Texas.
