Preferred Sands Launches FloPRO PTT™ to Maximize Proppant Distribution and Increase Production

September 28, 20158:45 AM Business Wire

RADNOR, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Preferred Sands, one of North America’s leading proppant technology companies, today announced the expansion of its MultiPRO™ proppant line with the launch of FloPRO PTT™ (FloPRO™), a proppant transport technology designed to provide superior proppant distribution and increased production. Preferred will introduce this innovative proppant transport technology at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition from September 28-30, 2015 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

FloPRO™ combines proprietary proppant transport technology with a long-lasting hydrophobic coating designed to cost-effectively maximize well performance by increasing the propped frac volume and reducing sand settling experienced during slickwater fracs. FloPRO™’s hydrophobic coating is designed to remain on the proppant after transfer, improving water flowback, and providing a cleaner proppant pack to increase oil mobility and enhance the formation’s relative permeability to hydrocarbons.

“FloPRO™ is a revolutionary new proppant technology that will significantly reduce the cost per BOE. In today’s challenging marketplace we developed FloPRO™ to provide proppant transport associated with a gelled or crosslinked fluid without unreliable breakers and the associated gel damage or cost,” says Michael O’Neill, founder and CEO of Preferred Sands.

FloPRO™ is the second product in the MultiPRO™ product line. It joins DustPRO™, the market leading dust prevention solution designed to help oilfield service and exploration and production companies meet current and future silica dust exposure limits. Like DustPRO™, FloPRO™ limits silica dust exposure during all sand transfer points.

FloPRO™ field tests have been successfully completed in the Mississippi Lime Formation with Gore Nitrogen Pumping Service, a well service operator headquartered in Oklahoma. During the field tests, the low density FloPRO™ proppant decreased pumping times by approximately 20% while the coating’s dust prevention technology provided a clean and safe working environment for employees on-site.

“My team was very impressed by our initial FloPRO™ testing, which reduced frac operation time and decreased the amount of required frac chemicals,” said Gary Gore, president and CEO, Gore Nitrogen Pumping Service. “In today’s market, we are always looking for ways to minimize costs and increase production, FloPRO™ provides an exciting new proppant technology at a competitive price.”
