Irving Oil's attempt to restart the70,000-barrels-per-day gasoline-making unit at its Saint John,New Brunswick, refinery failed, according to a source familiarwith the refinery's operations.
Irving's gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) wasdown as of Saturday, the source said. Irving had begunrestarting the unit after unexpectedly shutting it on Apr. 16.
Irving actively bought in New York Harbor on Monday, sourcessaid.
On the East Coast, F2 RBOB gained 0.25 centa gallon to trade at 1.00 cent per gallon below the futurescontract on the New York Mercantile Exchange , traderssaid. M2 conventional gasoline lost 0.50 cent agallon to trade at 2.25 cents per gallon below the futures.
Irving could not immediately be reached for comment.
