Changes to the Canadian Environmental Emergency Regulations – Are You Required to Comply?

May 9, 20192:16 AM BOE Report Staff

On March 6th, 2019 the Canada Gazette published a significant revision of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act’s Environmental Emergency Regulations (EER SOR 2003-307), requiring any entity managing hazardous substances over prescribed limits to prepare, test, file, and communicate to the public an emergency management plan.

Based on current regulated parties, approximately five thousand Canadian businesses will be subject to CEPA’s revised regulations.

In this 30-minute webinar, our in-house industry expert Josiane Simon, Vice-President of BDO’s Risk Advisory practice, will:

  • Review the updated regulations
  • Provide an overview of the types of entities subject to the regulations
  • Provide a step by step walk through of how to comply with EER SOR 2019-51

You will also have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session or have your questions answered confidentially.
