Elcano Exploration Inc. is seeking proposals from qualified parties to further develop our Lodgepole prospect in South Manson, Manitoba. Elcano completed a 3D seismic program over the entire prospect and drilled a vertical test well at 15-22-12-28W1M. Results from the well and seismic interpretation support significant oil in place of up to 16 MMBBL. Proposals to develop this prospect with horizontal drilling are requested
Lodgepole fields surrounding the South Manson prospect include: Virden, Daly-Sinclair, Kirkella and Hargrave. To view the Canadian Discovery Digest account of Elcano’s Lodgepole discovery at Hargrave visit: http://www.elcano.ca/operations At South Manson there are significant Lodgepole oil shows supporting a net oil thickness potential of over 6m in the regionally prolific Daly member (drill depth 625m). Lodgepole reserves per horizontal well are estimated between 117mbls and 175 mbls (@10% to 15% recovery). Additionally, the Manson and Daly-Sinclair Bakken fields flank South Manson lands and may be prospective (drill depth 700m).

- During the winter of 2017, an eight square mile 3D seismic program was conducted with the objective of defining Lodgepole and Bakken exploration drilling targets. The 3D yielded a Lodgepole structural ridge striking NW to SE with up-dip structural roll to the NE creating potential regional trapping on Elcano lands. Local core description of the crinoidal zones indicates good to excellent oil stained effective reservoir. Along the ridge several more subtle structural features were interpreted with potential closure for local trapping. Subtle structures can yield prolific oil producers as observed in the Hargrave Lodgepole N Pool
- Along the extensive Lodgepole structural ridge several primary NPW LP locations are defined including 15-22 in the north and 4-14 in the south. In October 2017, Elcano ‘et al’ drilled a vertical well at 15-22-012-27WPM (crown land) and encountered oil shows over a 14m gross Lodgepole interval with 6m of net pay at 13% average porosity. There were no shows or indications of high quality reservoir within the Bakken interval.
- Three LP intervals were perforated and evaluated separately and eventually fracture stimulated. The 15-22 well recovered ~40 m3 of oil and ~109 m3 of water on pump with limited inflow. Horizontal drilling is proposed to improve reservoir contact to improve inflow and reserves recovery.
