Alberta oil well in canola field
Canada’s fleet of active drilling rigs shrank from 244 to 240 since last week according to data from Baker Hughes.
Total drilling count was 240 at February 28. 163 rigs were drilling for oil; 77 for natural gas.
The drilling activity in Alberta increased from 152 to 159 since last week. Saskatchewan’s drilling dropped from 70 to 59 rigs.
