Paramount Resources announced last week that it had acquired 167 sections of wholly-owned Montney rights in the Sinclair area of Alberta for ~$51 MM. These land acquisitions were done over a multi-year period.
The public data mineral rights transfers have gone through, showing in detail the transfer of mineral rights from various land brokers to Paramount. In total, BOE Intel shows 177 sections of mineral rights (encompassing all zones, not just Montney) that were recently transferred to Paramount in a series of transactions. Those recent transfers are shown in orange in the BOE Intel activity map below, alongside pre-existing Paramount mineral rights (purple) and industry wide Montney spud activity over the last year in red.
While we can’t officially see any licences on the new acreage yet, Paramount did indicate in its press release that the first two licences are imminent, with expected drilling in Q4 2024.
While these mineral rights transfers happened to be press released, many are not. BOE Intel subscribers have access to full mineral rights transfer data and more. Reach out to us here for a BOE Intel demo.
