U.S. gasoline demand rose by more than 1.1 million barrels per day in the week ended Oct. 4, the sharpest weekly increase since February 2001, data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration showed on Wednesday.
Product supplied of gasoline, EIA’s measure of demand, hit 9.7 million barrels last week for the first time since December 2021, the data showed.
