For those who missed it, we’ve started a new article series.
There is so much quality content being provided on X these days, and going forward, we want to provide our readers with a quick glimpse of some of it. This article series, “By Our Readers, For Our Readers” will shine a light on some of those X posts. Sometimes it might be incredibly knowledgeable insight, perhaps an interesting chart, or sometimes maybe just a funny GIF or meme, this new feature should hopefully provide lots of additional information on Canadian oil gas for our readers that don’t necessarily use X, and maybe some entertainment as well.
Here is this week’s content that really got us thinking:
Commodity Context’s Rory Johnston shows us why, despite Trump’s comments yesterday, the US actually does need our oil.
US crude imports by API gravity, Canada in red and the rest of the world in blue.
Funny, that. https://t.co/wAplK84JHv pic.twitter.com/YtAvFOxK8D

And a different way of looking at it…
Trump: The US doesn’t need Canadian oil.
Checks data… US crude imports from Canada are at an all-time high.
Makes sense. pic.twitter.com/cWVYFK9PJ9

Sorry Canadian gas producers, but this was funny (and sad too, we’re counting down the days until LNG Canada startup).

Fascinating to watch sentiment shift in real time towards a more practical approach to resource development rather than just saying no to everything.
The zeitgeist has shifted, exhibit #27
“[We] can’t expect Nova Scotia to prosper when we ban industry after industry after industry,” Houston told reporters. They have bans on uranium mining, fracking for natural gas and offshore oil and gas exploration.https://t.co/OBJgZFH6ga
