EXTENDRILL™: Proven lubricant for faster drilling and reduced friction

EXTENDRILL™’s unmatched ability to reduce frictional forces, results in increased rates of penetration (ROP) and reduced wear and tear on equipment. By helping improve ROP and allowing operators to drill faster in the Deep Basin, EXTENDRILL™ performance data indicates an estimated average savings of two days in rig time, significantly reducing costs. In Northeast British Columbia (NE BC) Montney region, operators using EXTENDRILL™ have consistently drilled over 1,200m per day, with one operator achieving over 2,350m in a 24-hour period.

SECURE’s EXTENDRILL™ is a proprietary drilling lubricant designed for brine drilling including CaCI₂, NaCI, produced water and KCI. The lubricant has proven to provide torque and drag reduction immediately upon addition, at incredibly low dosing rates compared to traditional lubricants available on the market.

Recently, a troublesome well was experiencing no change in friction factors with the initial fluid provider’s lubricant. EXTENDRILL™ was introduced and immediately lowered torque – allowing the operator to achieve their final target depth during a previously stalled operation.

Since entrance to market in 2022, EXTENDRILL™ has been used on over 390 wells drilled in Canada.
