The 2025 federal election is over. The time to act is now.
This election marked a defining shift in Canada’s energy future. Canadians spoke clearly: the debate is no longer whether to develop our natural resources, but how swiftly and boldly we can advance. Both leading parties recognized the urgent need to expand oil and gas development, secure Canada’s energy and economic strength, and build critical infrastructure to counter rising global uncertainty and protectionism from our largest trading partner, the United States.
Our members are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. There is no room for delay. Our top priorities are:
• Immediately expand energy infrastructure projects that strengthen Canada’s energy and economic security, creating jobs and opening global markets;
• Eliminate the emissions cap that undermines responsible development and jeopardizes our national interests;
• Scrap greenwashing legislation that unfairly silences Canadian companies from showcasing their world-leading environmental performance and economic contributions;
• Fast-track Indigenous ownership and partnerships in energy projects, like the Cedar LNG initiative, to deliver true reconciliation and shared prosperity to Indigenous, rural, and remote communities.
Enough with promises — Canadians demand action. Results must start now.
The Canadian Association of Energy Contractors (CAOEC) stands ready to collaborate with the new government to build a stronger economy, unleash Canadian energy excellence, and forge a prosperous future that lifts every community. Let’s get to work.
