Production data is out for March! As always, we use calendar day production metrics so these are real volumes produced in the month.
StackDX Intel subscribers can generate these reports for themselves whenever they want, and interact with the wells on the StackDX Intel activity map. Subscribers are able to generate top well reports with more wells, on an overall basis, by formation, by company, by area, or by well type.

TOP 15 OIL/CONDENSATE WELLS (view on StackDX Maps)
TOP 15 NATURAL GAS WELLS (view on StackDX Maps)
Notable oil/condensate wells:
- Canadian Natural Resources had the top oil/condensate well of the month, as well as 3 of the top 5 and 4 of the top 15 in the month of March. The company’s top well was a Duvernay well from the newly acquired Chevron Duvernay acreage. This well produced 1,333 bbl/d of condensate, in addition to 4.7 mmcf/d of natural gas. While 3 of CNRL’s best wells were from the Duvernay, the company also had the highest producing Dunvegan well in the month from the Karr field.
- Strathcona Resources had 5 of the top 15 wells in March. These 5 wells all came from the same Montney pad at Lator, which will be part of the assets that were sold to ARC Resources last week.
- Archer Exploration continued its impressive string of results with the industry’s top Charlie Lake well in March. This well from Valhalla produced 1,068 bbl/d of oil.
- ConocoPhillips had 3 of the top 15 wells in the month, as the company’s Montney development at Inga continues to show high initial production rates. These 3 wells were placed on production late in 2024 and all three continue to produce over 1,000 bbl/d of condensate.
- Ovintiv had a big condensate well at Tower Lake, which produced 1,034 bbl/d of condensate from the Montney, in addition to almost 9 mmcf/d of natural gas.
- Kiwetinohk Energy Corp had 1 well in the top 15, with a 975 bbl/d Duvernay well at Saxon.

*”Gas equivalent” volumes represented in gas column if no “marketable gas” is reported. Condensate volumes only include condensate/pentane, not other NGLs.
Notable natural gas wells:
- Ovintiv claimed its usual spot atop the most prolific natural gas wells list in March, with 9 of the top 15 wells. Included in that list were 3 wells that each produced more than 32 mmcf/d in the month, and its top well which produced 34.3 mmcf/d.
- ARC Resources had 2 of the best natural gas wells in the month, both from Sunrise in northeast BC, and both produced slightly over 23 mmcf/d.
- CNRL had 3 of the top natural gas wells (in addition to 4 on the oil/condensate side). Interestingly all 3 were Falher wells from Wapiti and Smoky in Alberta.
- Advantage had the #14 natural gas well in March. This represented the top Alberta Montney well coming on at 14.6 mmcf/d from Pouce Coupe South.
