March 23 Land Sale Nets Province of Alberta $8.66 Million

The latest Alberta sale for Oil and Gas Mineral rights was completed yesterday and the result was a total of $8,664,107 paid for a total of 78 leases.  This is up slightly from the previous sale on March 9 when the total was $8.2 million. The sale result also included Oilsands leases for the first time since December 15, 2015.    Two Oilsands parcels sold for $26,493, one to Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. and the other to an anonymous bidder. Alberta March 9 Land Sale Results are $8.19 Million

The March 9, 2016 Alberta Oil and Gas Crown mineral rights land sale earned the province a total of $8.19 million.  This is almost double the total of the previous land sale on February 10. Yesterday's Alberta Oil and Gas Crown mineral rights land sale earned the province a total of $4.64 million.  A total of  64 leases consisting of 28.5 thousand hectares of land were sold. The average price paid per hectare was $162.67, slightly up from the average $116.57 paid 2 weeks ago.  That brings the total for the first three sales of 2016 to $11.4 million. First Saskatchewan Land Sale of 2016 Nets $5.1 Million

Last week’s Saskatchewan Crown oil and gas mineral rights land sale earned $5.11 million for the province. A total of 62 crown leases consisting of 11.5 thousand hectares of land was auctioned off. The average price paid was $443.63 per hectare.  That compares to an average of just $116.57 per hectare paid in Alberta just a week earlier. This week's Alberta oil and gas mineral rights land sale earned the province a total of $4.38 million for 82 leases consisting of 37.6 thousand hectares of land. The average price paid per hectare was $116.57 and that brings the total for the first two sales of 2016 to $6.8 million. That compares to $32 million this time last year, which represents a drop of 78.8%. Yesterday's Alberta oil and gas mineral rights land sale earned the province a total of $2.4 million for 104 leases consisting of just over 40,000 hectares of land.  That averages out to $59.43/hectare.   For comparison, in the first land sale of 2015, Alberta earned $24 million. Final Alberta Land Sale for 2015 Nets $12.57 Million

Yesterday's Alberta land sale brought in a total of $12.57 million.  This brings the final Alberta land sale proceeds for 2015 to $294.98 million. The December 2 Alberta Land Sale results are in and the province has received $15,601 for Oilsands leases and $3,058,773 for conventional leases for a total result of $3.07 million.  The Alberta total so far for 2015 is $282.4 million compared to $466.7 million this time last year.  That represents a decline of  39.5% from this time last year. Yesterday's Alberta Land Sale results were the highest total since March 3, 2015, when the total was $40.9 million.  The Alberta total so far for 2015 is $279.3 million.  This time last year the cumulative land sale total was 62% higher at $453.7 million. The downward trend for Alberta land sales is continuing with yesterday's results coming in at $2.47 million.  This result is 32% lower than the result of the last sale, October 14th, which was $3.7 million.
