Painted Pony Petroleum Ltd. Announces Election of Directors and Appoinment of New Director

CALGARY, ALBERTA–(Marketwired – May 16, 2014) – Painted Pony Petroleum Ltd. (“Painted Pony” or the “Corporation“) (TSX:PPY) announced today that the nominees listed in the Corporation’s Information Circular dated April 9, 2014 were elected as directors of the Corporation at its annual general meeting held May 15, 2014.

By resolution the following six nominees were elected as directors of the Corporation to serve until the next annual meeting of shareholders of the Corporation, or until their successors are elected or appointed. The results were as follows:

In addition, Painted Pony is pleased to announce that the directors have appointed Peter Williams as a director of the Corporation. Mr. Williams is a well-known, experienced, and respected member of the Calgary and Canadian energy industry.

Peter Williams co-founded Annapolis Capital Limited in 2006. For the 12 years prior, Peter served in executive management positions in, and as a director of, numerous public and private oil and gas companies. Most recently, Peter was the CEO and Chairman of two successful private oil and gas companies, Krang Energy Inc. and Passage Energy Inc. Peter also had a term as a governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) between 2003 and 2005. Peter is currently a director of Highrock Energy Ltd., Corinthian Exploration Corp., Hawk Exploration Ltd., Caltex Resources Ltd. and Venturion Oil Limited, sitting as Chairman of Corinthian. Prior to entering the oil and gas industry, Peter practiced law at Bennett Jones LLP for 11 years. Peter earned a B.A. (economics) in 1974 and an LL.B. in 1981, both from Dalhousie University.
