Blackbird Energy Inc. Announces 41% Increase in Elmworth Montney Acreage and Reports Results from Its Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders

CALGARY, ALBERTA–(Marketwired – Feb. 26, 2015) – Blackbird Energy Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BBI) (“Blackbird” or the “Company“) is pleased to announce that it has acquired a 100% working interest in 19 additional sections (12,160 net acres) of Elmworth Montney rights (the “Acquisition“). The Acquisition represents a 41% increase in the Company’s Elmworth Montney land position. With the completion of the Acquisition, Blackbird now holds a 100% working interest in 65 sections (41,600 net acres) at the Company’s core Elmworth Montney project. Including the Company’s four northern Grande Prairie sections, Blackbird now holds a total of 69 sections (44,160 net acres) of Montney rights in the greater Grande Prairie area.

Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders of the Corporation

Blackbird’s Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders of the Corporation (the “Meeting“) was held on February 26, 2015 in Calgary, Alberta. The shareholders elected Mr. Garth Braun, Mr. William L. Macdonald, Mr. Ron Schmitz, Mr. Darrell Denney, Mr. Sean Campbell and Mr. Kevin Andrus as directors of the Company.

Mr. William C. Macdonald did not stand for re-election at the Meeting. The Company thanks Mr. William C. Macdonald for his past contributions and service to Blackbird.

The shareholders also approved the renewal of the stock option plan of the Company and the appointment of Davidson & Company LLP, Chartered Accountants, as auditors of the Company to hold office until the next annual meeting of the shareholders.
