Energistics Celebrates 25 Years of Setting the Standard in Oil and Gas

HOUSTON, TX–(Marketwired – Nov 11, 2015) – This year Energistics celebrates 25 years of setting the standard for data exchange in the upstream oil and gas industry. To commemorate this milestone, Energistics held a day-long event in Houston, Texas USA on Tuesday, November 3 with presentations covering key standard case studies, intriguing panel discussions and a thought provoking keynote presentation by geopolitical analyst and global economic expert, Peter Zeihan.

As part of the celebration, Energistics recognized several individuals for their leadership and service to Energistics and to the development of industry standards over the last 25 years. Those individuals are: David Archer, PDS Americas; Mark Crawford, ExxonMobil; Gary Masters, Energistics – retired; Alan Doniger, Shell; Mike King, Texas A&M University; Jana Schey, Energistics; John Shields, Baker Hughes – retired; Bill McKenzie, Chevron; Laurent Deny, Paradigm; Lars Olav Grøvik, Statoil; Robin Getty, Petrotechnical Data Systems BV. Of particular note, Philippe Malzac, TOTAL, received the inaugural Gerald E. Hubbard Award of Excellence for his service to the industry as a member of the Energistics board for the last seven years.

Energistics is a global, non-profit, membership organization that serves as the facilitator, custodian and advocate for the development and adoption of technical open data exchange standards in the upstream oil and gas industry. It is uniquely designed to unite upstream industry professionals in a neutral and collaborative facilitation environment. Energistics membership consists of integrated, independent and national oil companies, oilfield service companies, software vendors, system integrators, regulatory agencies and the global standards user community.
