Enbridge Restarts Line 5 After Power Outage Related Shutdown
Enbridge said on Monday it hadrestarted its Line 5 pipeline after it was temporarily shut downdue to a power outage at its terminal in Superior, Wisconsin.
Enbridge had said on Sunday it would leave the line downuntil weather conditions improve at the Straits of Mackinac,where it discovered damage on the pipeline last week.
"We continue to monitor the weather conditions in theStraits and provide updates to the State, Coast Guard andPHMSA," Enbridge said in a statement.
The 540,000-barrel-per-day pipeline from Wisconsin toOntario carries Canadian light crude as well as refinedproducts, and is a key link in Enbridge's network, whichtransports the bulk of Canadian crude exports to the UnitedStates.
