The premier has also released an op-ed piece where she says the province must act now to deal with a growing glut of oil she blames on a lack of pipeline capacity. Notley says in the letter that there are two competing ideas for short-term relief — either let the market sort itself out, risking possible job losses and business closures, or intervene and temporarily restrict oil production. Canada Weekly Rig Count Down 5 to 199

Western Canada’s fleet of drilling rigs decreased to a total of 199 according to data collected by Baker Hughes for the week of November 30th. From last Friday, Alberta rig counts went down 2 to 136. Saskatchewan's rig count decreased from 43 to 37. Oil drilling went from 124 to 119; natural gas rigs went remained at 80. View a full breakdown of western Canada’s rig activity. [Read more]

Great Plains Seismogenic Study: whose fault is it?

Amherst Announces September 30, 2018 Reserve Report

Amherst Energy Inc. (Amherst) is a private Calgary based oil and gas exploration company. Amherst today reported that an independent engineering evaluation conducted on Amhest’s three (100 % WI) key properties, Morgan, Lloydminster and Leo, resulted in an estimated total proven plus probable reserves of 2.617 million barrels oil with a before tax NPV @ 10% DCF of $39.176 million, with 25 proven undeveloped and 9 probable undeveloped oil drilling locations on Amherst’s lands.
