NEB rejects call to expand scope of Trans Mountain pipeline expansion review
CALGARY - The National Energy Board is rejecting a call made by an environmental group last month to greatly expand the scope of its reconsideration of the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. Stand.earth filed a motion to the federal regulator on Jan. 21 demanding it add consideration of the project's upstream and downstream greenhouse gas emissions to its review of project-related marine shipping issues. TransCanada restarts shut portion of Keystone oil pipeline
TransCanada Corp restarted a section of the Keystone oil pipeline on Tuesday, following a leak in Missouri earlier this month, company spokesman Terry Cunha said.TransCanada had shut an arm of Keystone from Steele City, Nebraska to Patoka, Illinois on Feb. 6 after leaking 43 barrels of crude oil. TSB says improved tankers involved in Manitoba derailment that spilled crude
ST. LAZARE, Man. - Federal investigators say CN rail cars that spilled crude after derailing on farm land in western Manitoba were upgraded tankers. The Transportation Safety Board says 37 of 110 cars went off the tracks early Saturday near St. Lazare. The board says the derailed tankers are all Class 117R cars — an upgraded version considered to have improved safety features over the cars that were involved in the 2013 fatal explosion and fire in Lac Megantic, Que.
